form and function, to create work that is both lasting and visually expressive. At Winetree we strive
to produce heirloom quality furniture and accessories for our clients to enjoy today.
Inspired by the philosophy of George Nakashima, we feel that each piece we make should reflect
the spirit of the living tree from which it came. We carefully choose each stick of wood to be used for
its color, figure, and grain structure, appropriate to the task at hand. Through this practice we seek
to reveal the natural color and beauty of the wood.
Because many species of trees have become endangered, we are committed to using only wood that
comes from verifiable, renewable sources. It is in this spirit of conservation and artistic expression
that we also practice the ancient art of marquetry and decorative veneering.
